Math - Students receive a math worksheet every night except Friday. Unless otherwise noted, the worksheet is due on the following day. Students will also receive math quizzes on most Fridays that provides an excellent review of learned concepts. Math tests will be given at the end of each math unit. Students will receive a study guide prior to each test that delineates the skills covered on the test, as well as lists page numbers and practice problems where students can further review the learned concepts.
Reading - Students should read nightly for a minimum of 30 minutes. If students have a reading assignment for Science or Social Studies, these assignments count toward your child's 30 minutes of reading!
Spelling - Every Monday students are given a list of 20 words to study and practice. Throughout the week, students complete a number of activities geared to aide in this mastery. On Friday, students take a spelling test on all of the 20 words that they have been studying. Note: On "short" weeks, students will only be asked to memorize 15 spelling words. ELA/Social Studies/Science - Your child will routinely have ELA, Social Studies and/or Science homework. These assignments will typically be due the next time your child sees the subject-area teacher for class. However, please reference your child's agenda to verify the actual due dates of these assignments, as this isn't always the case!
Projects - Please click on the "assignments" tab to view pending due dates of on-going projects!

Other Policies - Just a reminder that...
We'd like students to write their first name, last name, date, and student # on all homework assignments.
If an assignment is late or missing, students will go to the work-room during morning recess to catch up.
We are nut-free classrooms.
We ask that only water, no juice or anything that's sticky or colored, be brought into the classroom.
*We hope to keep your child's nightly homework routine to 1 hour a night. If any assignment is taking longer than the anticipated length of time, please sign your name on the assignment so that we know that your student has put forth the appropriate amount of effort. Thank you!
